Body of Matters | Sum of Parts
Solo Exhibition

To revise oneself. The sum of our parts disintegrating and regrowing. How often we change as a movable organism. Incremental shifts; shifting.

In mind.

While swallowing the world – life – catastrophe.

One profound immovable statement, material in essence

made with conviction

can be despised in an instant.

despised, discarded.

This collection acknowledges change in ourselves, extending grace to our shifting parts, which are juxtaposed with our immovable matter. Surveying with suspicion, and with softness.  What can be discarded, and what can be renewed?

Body of matter(s); sum of our parts. Our body as matter – as the sum of our moving parts.

Matter. Matter? Matter! A word of discourse. A catalyst of questioning, of revelation. The flicker of neural movement. The dialogue of change.

The material reality of the exhibited works presents a moment in the life of each painting. The works are painted over previous works, forming layers, and revealing glimpses of each painting’s pasts. A moment of repair as the outcome, momentarily celebrating each painting in its dormant state.
